Never had venison before, but I bought this based on a recommendation from a friend, who suggested I try venison instead of lamb. He couldn’t have been more right. Extremely tender, and very flavorful. I was worried about getting a heavy game flavor that I’ve read about venison in general, but it was much more mild than I was expecting. Very little fat on the meat as well which I appreciated. Overall very pleased with my purchase.


As free-range as it gets without being wild, our venison comes from a certified cooperative in New Zealand where the deer roam and feed on tall-grass pastures in a pristine environment. With no added antibiotics or growth stimulants, this superior quality meat offers great taste, texture and health benefits. It is tender and never gamey, as Antonio pointed out in his review.

Venison tenderloin can be used in many recipes, such as our Venison Risotto Con Cervo. Keep in mind that it is a lean meat, so take care not to overcook it.
