Fun Fact About Heart-Shaped Cheese: The story goes that the maids of Neufchâtel-en-Bray, in Normandy, France – most of whom were cheese makers – began to fall in love with the British soldiers during the Hundred Years War (plenty of time for courtship) and started making heart-shaped soft cheeses to give to their sweethearts. You can still get this Coeur de Neufchâtel today, pictured above.
